Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
