Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
