Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
